...Our Need Today |
 |
The volume of outpatient procedures has outgrown its space and has placed even greater strain on our Hospital. In 2007, 78% of Woodlawn Hospital's total revenue originated from outpatient services, up 9% in just the last three years, while inpatient revenue declined 9% during the same period. Not only does this need have to be addressed, but the entire facility needs to be updated and expanded.
The present configuration of the Hospital does not allow for efficient delivery of today's outpatient services with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. This act establishes standards especially for patient privacy.

The ability to support new services that the community wants and needs, and to generate enough revenue to sustain the Hospital at a higher level, is not possible within the existing facility. |
